AMANA

Amana originates from Hebrew. The word “Amen” is derived from it.

Amen can be translated as “so be it,” but it means much more than that, because it also comes from the Hebrew root word for faith—confidence, but also loyalty and reliability.

In the Passion Bible translation, the phrase is rendered as “Archway of Trust.”

Song of Solomon 4:8

Now you are ready, my bride, to come with me as we climb the highest peaks together. Come with me through the archway of trust.

This phrase is translated from the Septuagint. The Hebrew is “the crest of Amana.” The crest of Amana is the kingdom where all of God’s promises are kept and fulfilled.

Amana can also be translated as “a place of settled security.”

GLORY

For the last 15 years of our lives, Benny and Jeanne, it has always been our desire and aspiration to discover and experience God’s glory. Along the way, we realized that His glory, His presence, His nearness is not something that must be searched for and waited for, or that it is up to God to bestow this glory upon us according to His will and pleasure.

No, all we have to do is open our hearts, be aware that the Holy Spirit is here at all times and wants to gift us with His presence, His love, His peace, and His glory. It is up to us to consciously take this step to immerse ourselves in it.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (Mirror Study Translation)
Now, we all, with new understanding, see ourselves in him as in a mirror. The days of window-shopping are over. In him every face is unveiled. In gazing with wonder at the blueprint of God displayed in human form, we suddenly realize that we are looking into a mirror, where every feature of his image, articulated in Christ, is reflected within us. The Spirit of the Lord engineers this radical transformation; we are led 6from an inferior mind-set to the revealed endorsement of our authentic identity.

 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as [b]by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (Passion Translation)
We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus.m We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another.

LODGE
We spent some time figuring out how best to describe what we have here. The term “lodge” was always in the back of Benny’s mind—his relatives in Canada also ran a lodge.

We considered various names—such as hacienda (a European-run estate in South America), monte (hill), casa (house), or resort—but ultimately, we agreed that lodge was the most appropriate term—a property with individual cottages and a communal area, surrounded by beautiful nature.

The name Amana Glory Lodge indicates what is being created here; not a vacation resort, nor a “community” in that sense, but a place where you can enter into rest.

Far away from all the hustle and bustle, expectations, demands, pressure, manipulation, obligations, and religiosity—where you can take time to open your heart to God and discover His heart. To grasp His dreams for you.
Where you have time to just simply be. The nicely furnished bungalow offers infrastructure for a cozy stay, as does the outdoor terrace with its spacious, fenced-in private garden.
Beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed directly from the terrace.
Walks in the area have already been extensively tested and enjoyed by our guests.

It is a place where you can become aware of what the finished work on the cross really means.

What it means, that all who have accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord have been brought to fullness in him. (Col 2:10)

Where you can experience the glory of the Lord—that is, His glorious presence and love, but also how merciful and gracious He is, patient and rich in kindness and faithfulness (Exodus 34:6).

A place where we, Jeanne and Benny, are not leaders of anyone—we see ourselves as leaders and administrators of the project, but not as counselors, therapists, or pastors—but where we accompany you on your journey, support you, and encourage you.
