When we arrived in Paraguay in January 2022, we didn’t know what was going to unfold before us, and couldn’t answer the question, “what are you going to do in Paraguay?”.
But now the time has come and we have repurposed our existing website freedomthatmatters – the name “freedom that makes a difference” fits perfectly – to take you inside who we are, what we are building and what we are envisioning in our future.

But now the time has come and we have repurposed our existing website freedomthatmatters – the name fits perfectly – to take you inside who we are, what we are building and what we are envisioning in our future.
We, Jeanne and Benny, at an inner urging, sold our home and thriving business in Switzerland and came to Paraguay together with our 4 kids. (The story of how we came to this property can be found here).
Within this year we were able to put into words more and more clearly and tangibly what had been lying dormant in our hearts for years. More and more it became clear that this is the place where God wants to make it happen. It is a step of faith for us to invest our time, strength, heart and finances into this project.
It is our heart to create a place of peace and freedom.
Freedom from religion, control, manipulation, pressure, external expectations and theological debates.
A place where you can quiet your heart and listen to the voice of God, where you deepen intimacy with Jesus.
A place where you can take time out from what overwhelms you in your daily life, and where you can take time to rest and align yourself with God’s perspective for your life.
It is a place where you are allowed to take care of your own heart and take personal responsibility for your life.
Our bungalows provide you with a setting of privacy, tranquility and comfort that you need to focus completely on your personal process.
Equipped with air conditioning, internet, hot water, outdoor kitchen and private garden, in the middle of a peaceful and quiet environment.
We will accompany you on your journey and, if you wish, assist you with occasional talks – not as pastors or therapists, but as friends who have gone through this process themselves.
There is also the possibility of working through the workbook on codependency with Jeanne, or deepening the theme of the heart or the new covenant.
